"How to Cook Gluten-Free" by Elizabeth Barbone

Last week I was given the opportunity to preview a few recipes from Elizabeth Barbone's new book, "How to Cook Gluten-Free." I was asked to try them & post about it on my blog so here we have my first cookbook review.

I tried two recipes from the book. the first was Upstate "Goulash." This was your grandmother's Americanized Goulash. Very yummy! Everyone in the house loved it. I wasn't able to find gluten-free elbow macaroni so I substituted gluten-free penne with great results. It was easy to prepare & still tasted great the next day.

The second recipe I made was "Powdered Sugar Doughnut" Muffins. OMG!!! These were so tasty. It was hard not to eat them all as they came out of the oven. They taste just like those little Hostess Donettes, at least what I remember them tasting like. The really great part about these was that I had all of the ingredients in my pantry. I also didn't dirty a lot dishes making them, which my dishwasher really appreciated. They also tasted great the next day although I am not sure how they survived that long. Next time, I think I will fill them will jelly.

I cannot wait to try more recipes from this book. You can try them too! Pick up her book here today.
